SALVATION

Roman 10:9-10 puts the road to salvation very simply:

“That if you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, YOU will be saved!”

By the confession of your mouth and the belief in your heart, you completely change the course of your life! Hallelujah!

I’d like to stand in agreement with you, and pray for and with you as you make the most important decision in your life. You can speak this prayer aloud; however it’s not a requirement. What’s more important is that your mouth and heart are in agreement. Let’s pray...

Heavenly Father, I am a sinner and I cannot make it without you. Even during my most trying times, I realize that it was only by your grace and mercy that I made it through. You’ve been so good to me and I am sorry for all of the things I’ve done that has grieved You, Lord. Please forgive me for all of my sins.

Right now, at this very moment, I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and I believe in my heart that You, O Lord, have raised him from the dead. I know that this was done so that I may have everlasting life. I thank you for Your forgiveness Lord and I welcome you into my heart and into my life. I thank you for remembering my sins no more as well as for cleansing me. By faith, I receive Your forgiveness, cleansing and gift of eternal life. I pray this prayer in Jesus' name. Amen!

Let me be the first to say...

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. –Ephesians 2:8-9

How do I know that I’m saved?

The best answer for this question was given by Apostle Paul, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” –Ephesians 2:8-9

Will life get easier for me now that I am a Christian?

You will have many of the same struggles as before; however the difference is you will NOT be alone. The Bible tells us “Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world!” Because of “He” who is in you, you are more than a conqueror, which is also who you are in Christ. Read a list of Scriptures that tells us who we are in Christ.

Don’t I have to get saved in a church? Don’t I have to have someone pray over me?

No. The Bible is very clear on what is needed to get saved, and that is, YOU: the confession of your heart and the belief in your heart. That is it. You can do this in church or at home. Location doesn’t matter. Getting it done, does!

What about my bad habits and addictions?

Jesus promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. As you continue to yield y0urself to the Holy Spirit, which was given to you the moment you received Christ as your Lord & Savior, the Holy Spirit will help you to break every habit and addiction. Some may stop suddenly and others may take some time. But don’t despair. Keep praying, wait on God and have patience with yourself.

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 1For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. –Roman 10:9-10 NIV
